My dear friend from college came to town last weekend from D.C. and I was elated to finally meet her son I, who just happened to turn 1. When your long-time friends start to have children, it is so special when you get to meet their little ones face to face. I had an instant love for little I. He was so incredibly good, and my heart melted when he would bury his face in his dad's chest. My oldest, W, used to do that and it is one of those baby things you forget about. I feel like I need to thank Ralph Lauren for making classic boys clothes like I's sweater below; he looked well on his way to being a lawyer, just like his dad. Loved seeing you guys!
Happy First Birthday, M!
I wrote last week about how my sister was in town with her girls! Before they left town we had a family celebration to honor M turning 1! It was a beautiful day, and the kids had so much fun hanging out together. The food table was popular. (Excuse W's mouthful of goldfish in the shot below.) My sister wanted to do an owl theme and I found the perfect dress for her on Mini Boden. I love that line of clothing for kids if you want a less traditional and fun look. The bright colors always look great in photos. I have to throw in that my sister's shirt is from Ann Mashburn. (Ladies, if you need a classic or bright colored outfit for portrait sessions, check out her store. I want everything in there!) I also recommended a cake designer (Katie, from Sweet Peeps) to her that I found by reading one of my client's blogs(thanks Callie!) the other week. My sister had a hummingbird cake made - delicious and super cute! Last but not least, a few family shots and an attempt of one decent one with our grandmother. Happy Birthday sweet M! I miss you guys already.
C
Little C, how do I love thee. How could I not with those eyes and that smile! We spent several hours together so this posting is long. Hard to narrow down with a sweet face like this! Lighting, decor and architecture are always on my mind when I shoot, and C's place had it all!
