the other pictures

A lot of conversations lately have taken me back to one of my photography class assignments at Chapel Hill. It was in a class titled Family Photography and the assignment was called The Other Pictures. I knew in this class that not only did my minolta and I have something special going on, but that I loved anything and everything to do with photography + family. Working in the darkroom late at night and chatting with my sweet old neighbor John was just a part of my college experience.  A lot of people ask how I got started and I hope to share tid-bits with you along the way, but for now let's look at the other pictures interpreted by the 20 year old me.

The Framed Portrait

I always love walking into my clients' homes and seeing framed photographs from our portrait sessions. One of my clients, Cam, is the owner of Gramercy, a fabulous (and a personal favorite!) linens and furnishings boutique here in Atlanta. I will be posting the latest portrait session of her family soon, but wanted to share with you some of the framed portraits that she incorporated into the design of her home from sessions I have shot this past year.

Canvas Gallery Wraps

Canvas gallery wraps are a great way to showcase your photographs from your wedding or portrait sessions. Below is an example of one that just came in. You can see that a gallery wrap is thick and doesn't need a frame. One of the many fun ways to turn your photography into art in your home!
